ELCC 2.4: Candidates understand and can promote the most effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning in a school environment.

In my role of assisting a new teacher in problem-solving and facilitating her comfort with other staff members, I align with ELCC 2.4 by showcasing my ability to promote effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning. In addition to traditional technology integration, I specifically demonstrated how to use learning platforms such as Freckle to help support student learning.

While ELCC 2.4 traditionally emphasizes technology integration, I understand its broader scope, which includes interpersonal skills and the facilitation of a positive school environment.

In this context, my approach involves recognizing that effective problem-solving and facilitating comfort among staff members are forms of "technology" beyond hardware and software. The interpersonal skills used to assist the new teacher showcase a nuanced understanding of technology in fostering human connections and communication.

Furthermore, I view the promotion of a positive school culture as a strategic approach, a form of "technology" that contributes to effective teaching and learning. By aiding the new teacher's navigation of the school day and cultivating a supportive atmosphere, I am employing interpersonal "technologies" that enhance the overall learning and working environment.

In summary, my activity aligns with ELCC 2.4 by demonstrating my proficiency in promoting effective interpersonal "technologies," including showcasing learning platforms like Freckle, that contribute to a positive school culture and support teaching and learning comprehensively.
